Aurelius & Filtrona Overview & Context

  • Aurelius Group were in the process of evaluating the acquisition of Filtrona, a global filter and tape manufacturing operation, from Essentra​

  • The business operated across 16 country unionised operation, was tightly integrated to end of life business applications and technology – presenting a highly complex separation process​

  • The selling companies proposed separation model was to clone all business applications and transition the aging infrastructure to a new owner​

Separation Design​

  • Engaged to design the separation approach, leveraging Searchlights M&A Framework, which outsourced cloud infrastructure, and established a roadmap to accelerate separation and then move to a business modernisation / value creation roadmap​

Separation Delivery ​

  • Led the outsourcing and separation of all core business processes including manufacturing, finance, sales, reporting; engaging with unions associated with working practice changes and subsequent plant closure. The separation was delivered within the 12-month TSA and value creation transformation is ongoing​

Value Creation ​

  • A new IT operating model was established, leveraging Searchlights IT Operating Model Framework, and team were hired, and the Searchlight team focused on delivery of a Salesforce, Data & Analytics & cloud HANA SAP solution. The Searchlight team continues to support the HANA programme and modernisation of a manufacturing execution solution.​

  • Replaced end of life infrastructure with a modern outsourced service​

  • Achieved 12-month TSA exit​

  • Support the hire of a new IT delivery team, based in Singapore​

  • Negotiated cloud solution discounts for vendor and partner services
