Traditional project management techniques were developed in the era of post war reconstruction or from military logistics, they tended to focus on delivering projects within time, cost and quality parameters. The methods are about structure, order and aligning responsibilities across contractual boundaries.
Today, organisations are increasingly complex. Project Managers must understand the organisational context within which a project is to be delivered. They must then learn to navigate cross-functional boundaries, cross-cultural and cross-partner relationships.
